WHO YOU ARE
Reporting to the Director, Curriculum, the Curriculum Designer at Buona Beef and The Original Rainbow Cone is responsible for creating engaging, effective, and scalable training content for our corporate and franchised restaurant operations across both brands. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence is only surpassed by your drive to succeed. With expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and creating e-learning content and programs, you will create best-in-class training that is foundational and fun across generations of team members and leaders.
THE BASICS
The Curriculum Designer role is a work from office position that may require work in our existing restaurants and new restaurant openings. As we are a 7 day a week, 2 brand restaurant company, the curriculum designer may work non-traditional hours and days from time to time to support the business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Curriculum and Content Development Design and develop a wide range of learning materials, including e-learning modules, video scripts. facilitator guides, job aids, and microlearning experiences for in-person and remote audiences.
· e-Learning: Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) to publish, track, and update content.
· Needs Analysis: Partner with department teams and franchisees to identify skill gaps and performance challenges. Assess organizational needs to determine priority areas for upskilling and curriculum development.
· Audio/Video: Proficient in editing audio and video to include in training content
· Project Management: Using the Monday.com platform, be able to create, follow and adhere to project plans in a collaborative, cross-functional environment that delivers high quality content at or ahead of deadlines.
· Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with subject matter experts from various departments and roles to design and refine curriculum, courses, modules, and assessments, ensuring alignment with each program’s learning objectives.
· Compliance and Documentation: Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, brand standards, and program guidelines. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, records, and reports related to curriculum development, learning design, professional development, and assessment.
· Training Delivery and Facilitation: Lead training sessions, workshops, and webinars as needed, ensuring effective delivery of training programs in both in-person and virtual formats in workshop, restaurant, menu rollout and new restaurant opening settings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
· 3+ years of experience in a curriculum design role in the restaurant or hospitality field.
· Expertise in creating and scaling training programs in multi-unit retail or restaurant environments, with a focus on both corporate and franchise settings.
· Best-in-class communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with experience delivering high-level presentations to C-suite leaders and large groups.
· Demonstrated success in selecting and implementing enterprise-wide learning platforms and systems.
· Proficient in the Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
· Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support team and franchise development.
