LHH is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join a dynamic team at one of their clients in the Miami area. In this role, you will provide essential support to our legal professionals, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities:

• Draft and format legal documents such as briefs, motions, complaints, subpoenas, affidavits, and summonses for various courts
• Compile, proofread, and edit contracts, leases, licenses, and other legal documents. Maintain paper and electronic files
• Coordinate multi-document filings in Circuit, State, and Federal courts, including e-filing
• Assist in all stages of trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining the trial calendar, and communicating with opposing counsel and courtroom staff
• Track firm, attorney, and client expense
• Participate in client billing, assist attorneys with entering narratives, track billable tasks, make edits, and calendar billing due dates
• Schedule client appointments with the attorney
• Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and emails
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in a legal environment or law firm
• Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and positive attitude
• Great organizational skills
• Proficiency with advanced, multifunction word processing software including Microsoft Office Suites or related software
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Notary for the State of Florida required
