Job Description

Red River Brick is the premiere brand of the General Shale network, the nation’s leading brick and masonry materials manufacturer, is seeking a Plant Manager for our manufacturing facility in Henderson, TX.

Job Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and are aligned with company objectives. The Plant Manager will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to drive continuous improvement, ensure safety compliance, and achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Manage and oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and safety.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance employee skills.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce and promote a safe working environment, ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are followed.
  • Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within the plant.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance targets are met.
  • Analyze financial reports and production data to identify areas for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures to minimize defects and rework.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and other process improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and implement best practices to improve plant performance.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving machinery.
  • The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
