Job Summary:

At Collette, we're at the beginning of our journey transitioning from a monolithic application stack to a distributed, microservice-based architecture. As a leader in guided travel, we're dedicated to crafting exceptional experiences for our travelers. We are seeking a Sales Engineer to provide technical leadership, design, and implementation of our partner integration processes. Utilizing a modern cloud-based infrastructure and catering to hundreds of thousands of travelers worldwide, this role requires someone willing to work closely with partners to ensure successful API integrations.

Primary Functions:

  • Technical Liaison : Act as the primary technical point of contact for partners during the integration process, bridging the gap between the partner’s technical team and Collette’s Technology team.
  • Integration Planning : Develop detailed integration plans and timelines in collaboration with partners, ensuring all technical requirements are clearly defined and understood.
  • Hands-On Support : Provide hands-on support to partners, including coding assistance, API configuration, and testing. Conduct technical training sessions for partners to help them understand and utilize the APIs effectively. Comfortable at a high level in multiple platforms/languages as our customers all use different platforms and languages to integrate with our API's.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Technology teams to provide seamless technical support to partners. Facilitate technical discussions and ensure effective communication.
  • Mentorship : Mentor junior team members in best practices and technologies. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure high-quality integrations.
  • Feedback and Improvement : Gather feedback from partners on the integration process and identify areas for improvement. Work with the Technology team to implement enhancements based on partner feedback.
  • Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for APIs and integration processes. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to partners and internal teams. Documentation should include working coding samples.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred) or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience , demonstrating an understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Document design decisions and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in API design and development , with experience in cloud engineering, Azure services preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action , a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Code Quality : Lead quality assurance efforts and mentor team members. Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Innovation : Stay updated on emerging technologies and drive innovation within the team. Share knowledge and best practices with the team.
  • Project Management : Effectively deliver medium team projects. Recognize and surface risks/unknowns, keeping work aligned with goals.
  • Vision and Strategy : Provide technical leadership and participate in strategic decisions. Assist in the design and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Team Leadership : Lead technical discussions and code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
