Job Title: Senior Sales Applications Engineer

Department: Sales

Reports To: Director of Product Management – Three Phase

Position Summary:

The Senior Sales Applications Engineer will play a key role in supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise, assisting in proposal development, and managing key customer interactions. This role requires a blend of strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills to deliver tailored solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. This individual will also contribute to internal coordination efforts, custom quoting, and product support for OEM clients and distributor partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical application support to the sales team and external partners
• Deliver accurate technical documentation (drawings, manuals, specifications) to resellers, OEMs, and customers
• Assist reps and partners with proposal generation using internal quote tools
• Communicate relevant updates on customer orders as needed
• Support the Order Entry team by addressing technical questions and concerns related to customer orders
• Prepare and present detailed quotations and proposals for major OEM accounts
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Product Management – Three Phase

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically with occasional international travel
• Solid technical understanding of UPS equipment and systems
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical one-line diagrams
• Strong collaboration and project management abilities
• Strategic thinker with the ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships
• Deep interest in and familiarity with industries such as industrial, broadcast, healthcare, retail/commercial, colocation, and enterprise data centers
• Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and in technical presentations
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and meet tight deadlines
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Highly self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented
• Positive attitude and strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in relevant electrical gear applications
• Preferred experience in UPS Systems, Power Factor Correction Capacitors, Active Harmonic Mitigation equipment
• Equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience will be considered

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to communicate clearly in person and over the phone
• Frequently required to sit at a desk for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting of up to 50 lbs

Work Environment:

• Office-based environment with occasional travel to customer and vendor sites
• Exposure to varying noise levels depending on the site
