Web Application Developer Web Data Collection Systems Project

Contract Type: Full Time

Location: Remote This position is only for US Residents

Position Overview

Zenius is seeking a proactive and experienced Web Application Developer to support Web Data Collection Systems project. This role will focus on the enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of existing web-based data collection systems.

The Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement updates to support regulatory changes, improve accessibility, enhance usability, and ensure system scalability. The candidate must demonstrate experience working in cloud-based, secure environments, particularly with .NET-based applications hosted on AWS GovCloud.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Enhancement

• Design, develop, and modify front-end and back-end components for .NET web applications used for data collection
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to enhance application functionality and facilitate system interoperability.
• Implement UI/UX updates based on user feedback, accessibility (508 compliance), and federal reporting requirements.
• Update application logic and workflows to reflect changes in statutes, regulations, or Department directives.
• Test application components in a contractor-hosted dev/test environment prior to delivery for government deployment.
• Document all system changes, source code updates, and user guides for internal and external stakeholders.

System Maintenance and Optimization

• Perform regular code refactoring and optimization to improve performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, configuration issues, and other technical problems as needed.
• Ensure all application changes meet federal IT security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
• Collaborate with database administrators to coordinate backend integration and data flow.

Technical Requirements

• Languages & Frameworks: Strong proficiency in C# , .NET Framework (4.5 4.7) , and ASP.NET MVC/Web API .
• Frontend: Experience with ReactJS (v17 or later) , HTML5 , CSS3 , JavaScript , AngularJS (legacy support).
• Database Integration: Understanding of SQL Server 2019 , T-SQL for queries and stored procedures.
• Tools: Git, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools (even if not deployed in current system).
• Cloud Environment: Understanding of application deployment practices on AWS GovCloud or other secure federal cloud environments.
• Compliance: Knowledge of Section 508 Accessibility Standards , secure coding practices, and data validation routines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development, with proven work on enterprise or federal government web systems.
• Experience with government data collection systems is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting requirements and creating scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.

Preferred Experience

• Prior development experience with U.S. Department of Education or other federal education-related platforms.
• Experience producing and maintaining system SOPs and user documentation.
