Employment:

We are currently seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal with at least two (2) years of family law experience or three (3) years of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family law, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys.
  • Interact professionally with clients, lawyers, judges, and experts, providing exceptional customer service and teamwork at all levels.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, including but not limited to pleadings, discovery, financial disclosures, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize case files, documents, and records.
  • Manage and calendar court deadlines and assist in calculating pre-trial dates.  
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various sources.
  • Assist with court filings, including e-filing in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Francisco Courts.
  • Prepare and handle document production and discovery requests.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial binders.

You will play a key role in our firm by helping our attorneys to leverage their time to efficiently serve the needs of our clients. The preparation of legal documents will be performed under the direct guidance of an attorney. 

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of family law experience or three (3) years of civil litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of California court procedures, including the California Code of Civil Procedure, Family Code, California Rules of Court, and local court rules.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization, including attorneys, courts, and outside counsel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on several projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Detailed understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Benefits:

We offer a generous compensation package, including fully paid benefits, which include paid time off, medical coverage, and dental coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k), profit sharing, and safe harbor plans with substantial employer contributions after one year of service.

Pay range:

$90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience plus bonuses with a refreshingly low billable hour target (80 hours per month).

Location:

This role is primarily in-office with the option to work remotely one day per week.
